Visit Kalimantan

Kalimantan is a large Indonesian province located on the island of Borneo. It covers over 73 million hectares, making it the third largest province in Indonesia. It is bordered by Malaysia and Brunei to the north, Sulawesi to the east, and Java to the south.

The province consists of lowland rainforest with rivers winding through dense jungle vegetation that is home to diverse wildlife - including orangutans and proboscis monkeys. There are stunning national parks like Tanjung Puting National Park which has become well known for its conservation work with rehabilitated orangutans as well as incredible biodiversity including numerous endemic species.

In addition to its natural beauty, Kalimantan also has an interesting historical legacy with areas such as Kutai National Park being home to an ancient kingdom dating back from 350AD until 1622. Other popular places include Lake Sentarum National Park which is a lake system connected by a network of rivers, streams and swamps covering an area of almost 500 square kilometers - perfect for bird watching! Finally don't forget about Balikpapan Bay - an archipelago with hundreds of small islands offering excellent opportunities for snorkeling among crystal clear waters surrounded by lush rainforest vegetation
