Visit Lesser Sunda Islands

The Lesser Sunda Islands region of Indonesia is a tropical archipelago located between the islands of Java and Timor. This province consists of over 500 islands, some of them with stunning views and plenty to explore.

One great tourist destination in the region is Komodo National Park - home to the world's largest lizard, the famous Komodo Dragon. This park offers unparalleled opportunities for snorkeling, swimming with colorful fish in crystal clear waters, and trekking through lush forests where wildlife such as wild boars roam freely.

Another popular tourist attraction here is Mount Rinjani volcano. Its summit reaches 3,726 meters high and offer incredible views of Lombok Island below and even Bali island on a clear day! The nearby crater lake Segara Anak is especially beautiful during sunrise or sunset when its colors shimmer like liquid gold upon its surface.

This region also has an interesting historical fact - it was originally part of ancient Hindu-Buddhist Majapahit Empire that ruled over eastern parts of modern Indonesia from 1293-1527 CE before being converted to Islam by early missionaries from South East Asia.
