Maluku Utara is a province in Indonesia, located on the northern part of the Maluku Islands of the Moluccas. It is known for its beautiful scenery, abundant wildlife, and cultural attractions. The provincial capital is Ternate City.

The region has some of Indonesia's most stunning landscapes with crystal blue waters and lush green rainforests. Tourists can explore ancient fortresses like Tolukko Fort or take in breathtaking views from Mount Gamalama. Head to Jailolo Bay for an underwater exploration and then relax on Madadhoo Island's white sand beaches.

Maluku Utara has a long history dating back to antiquity when it was incorporated into Hindu-Buddhist Srivijaya Empire in 13th century AD before becoming part of the colonial Dutch East Indies in 1605 AD. Today, visitors are able to explore historical sites such as Old Moluccan Houses which were preserved from Dutch colonial period as well as ancient ruins and fortifications like Tolukko Fortress which dates back to 16th century AD.
