The city of Ardabil is home to numerous thermal springs and the Sheikh Safi al-Din Khanegah and Shrine Ensemble, which was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010. The complex contains numerous buildings including shrines and mausoleums built between the 15th and 17th centuries.
