Hormozgan Province is a southern Iranian province located on the Persian Gulf coast. It covers an area of approximately 56,000 km2 and has a population of around 1.7 million people. This coastal province is known for its vibrant culture and stunning natural beauty, with beaches, forests, mountains and islands making up its unique landscape.

One must-visit tourist destination in Hormozgan is the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Qeshm Island - the largest island in Iran - which features spectacular rock formations such as the Grand Canyon of Iran (Lenjan Canyon). Here one can also explore cave systems or admire pristine coral reefs at Hengam Island's marine park.

In terms of history, Hormozgan Province was once part of Persian Empire's Achaemenid dynasty as evidenced by archaeological artifacts found in various sites throughout the region. Today it serves as an important trading port due to its strategic location on the Strait of Hormuz and many communities living along this coast still practice traditional fishing techniques passed down through generations.
