Visit Ilam Province

The Ilam Province of Iran is a mountainous area located in the western part of the country. It borders Iraq, and is known for its picturesque landscapes and diverse wildlife. Ilam also has an interesting history, having been settled as far back as 2000 BC by the Elamite people.

Ilam boasts many tourist attractions, including Chardavol Lake, where visitors can enjoy beautiful views and a variety of recreational activities. The nearby Jafarabad Park is home to several natural springs and a variety of wildlife species. Both sites offer wonderful opportunities for photography enthusiasts.

The historical site at Choghazanbil Temple is another popular destination in Ilam province. Built by the Elamite King Untash-Napirisha around 1250 BC, it was one of the first ziggurats built outside of Mesopotamia and was inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage list in 1979. With its majestic towers rising out of the desert landscape, it is truly a sight to behold!
