Visit Isfahan Province


Isfahan Province, located in central Iran, is known for its rich history and culture. The province covers an area of approximately 107,024 square kilometers and is home to over 4 million people. Its capital city, Isfahan, is often referred to as "half of the world" due to its stunning beauty and historic attractions.

Some must-see sights in the province include Naqsh-e Jahan Square (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), Chehel Sotoun Palace, and Vank Cathedral. Visitors can also explore stunning mosques such as the Jameh Mosque of Isfahan or take a walk along the Zayanderud river which runs through the city center.

The province also has an interesting historical fact associated with it; Isfahan was once part of an ancient Persian Empire that included present day Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan and parts of Iraq. This vast empire was established by Cyrus the Great in 539 BC who chose this region as his cultural and political center due to its strategic location on a major trade route connecting Asia with Europe.
