Visit Lorestan Province

Lorestan Province is a province located in western Iran. It covers an area of 28,392 km2 with an estimated population of 1.7 million people. Bordering provinces are Khuzestan to the south, Markazi to the northwest and Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari to the north. The region is famous for its unique culture and traditions as well as its beautiful countryside landscapes, lush green forests, towering snow capped mountains and crystal clear rivers that flow from them.

Two of the top tourist spots in Lorestan Province are Dorood Lorestan and Khorram Abad, both offering their own unique experiences. Dorood Lorestan is a city known for its ancient architecture and picturesque scenery while Khorram Abad has multiple attractions such as hot springs, waterfalls and monuments that tell stories from ancient times.

An interesting historical fact about Lorestan Province is that it was part of Ancient Persia during the Achaemenid Dynasty (559 BC - 480 BC). This period saw many rulers come through its land who left behind their mark on this region with some remarkable archaeological sites such as Takht-e Jamshid which were discovered over thousands of years later!
