Visit Diyala Governorate
Diyala Governorate, located in the east of Iraq, is a region rich in history and culture. It has a diverse landscape with large swaths of lush green fields and orchards interspersed with rolling hills, sand dunes, oases and palm trees. Diyala is an important agricultural region for Iraq producing wheat, barley, dates and citrus fruits. It is also home to many ancient archaeological sites such as the ruins of Babylon on the Euphrates River.
