Visit Jerusalem District

Jerusalem

The Jerusalem District is one of the most historic and beloved regions of Israel. It is home to some of the world's most famous religious sites, including the Dome of the Rock, Western Wall and Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

This district also boasts a variety of cultural and religious museums, as well as many outdoor activities such as hiking and biking in nearby hills. Tourists can visit Mount Zion which has stunning views over Jerusalem, or head to Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial for a more somber look into Jewish history.

The region is also known for its vibrant food scene with flavors from all around Israel featured in local restaurants - from shawarma at Abu Shukri to freshly-made hummus at Hummus Baruch.

On top of this rich culture and history, an interesting fact about Jerusalem District is that it was once divided between East Jerusalem (Jordan) and West Jerusalem (Israel) until 1967 when East Jerusalem was annexed by Israel after The Six-Day War.
