Discover Pisa

203.3 thousand

Pisa, located in the Tuscany region of Italy, is most famously known for its world-famous leaning tower. The city itself is steeped in history and culture, with many ancient buildings and monuments to explore. The towers of Pisa's cathedral are also a must-see when visiting the city.

One of the main attractions to visit in Pisa is its iconic Leaning Tower. The tower has been standing since 1173 and still leans due to foundation problems caused by the ground being too soft on one side. Visitors can take a tour up the 294 steps for breathtaking views over Pisa's terracotta rooftops or simply admire this awe-inspiring structure from afar.

Another thing not to be missed whilst visiting Pisa are the 'Miracle Square' or Campo dei Miracoli as it's known locally - featuring magnificent architecture such as the Duomo di Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral, the Baptistery and St John's Cathedral all within a few hundred meters of each other! This incredible complex was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1987 which draws tourists from all over world every year.
