Discover Sato
One of the main things to do in Sato is to visit Uminonakamichi Seaside Park, located on an island at the edge of Hakata Bay. This park features a beautiful landscape including flowering trees and lawns, as well as an amusement park with roller coasters and water slides perfect for family fun. Tourists can also take advantage of the various activities offered in this giant park such as mini-golf, go-karts, biking trails and food stalls selling local delicacies such as oden and takoyaki.
Another great spot to visit while in Sato is Yurakuen Garden which was originally built during the Edo period by one of Japan's most famous daimyo (feudal lords). This historic garden boasts beautiful cherry blossoms, lush greenery and traditional Japanese architecture making it perfect for strolling around or taking picturesque photographs during springtime or summertime visits. Those looking for something more adventurous can partake in fishing along Shimabara River or explore mysterious Sazare Cave which are both located close by the city center.
