Visit Okayama Prefecture


The Okayama Prefecture is located in the Chugoku region of Japan. It is known for its rich history and culture, beautiful landscapes, and tasty cuisine. One of the most popular places to visit in the prefecture is Korakuen Garden, one of Japan's three most famous gardens. This spectacular garden was built in 1700 by Lord Ikeda Tsunamasa and features lush vegetation and a classic Japanese landscape design with tea houses, ponds, bridges, and more.

For a glimpse into traditional Japanese life, head over to Bizen-Ichinyoza Theater where actors perform traditional kabuki theater dating back to 1684 when it first opened its doors. Notable historical sites include Tsuyama Castle which was constructed during the Edo period between 1601-1868 by Takayama Ukon who served under Tokugawa Ieyasu during this time frame.

Lastly for a unique experience check out Kibitsu Shrine which has been maintaining its architectural wonders from the Muromachi period since 1441 making it one of Okayama's oldest shrines!
