Visit Shizuoka Prefecture

Shizuoka Prefecture is located on the southeastern coast of Japan's main island, Honshu. It is known for its stunning views of Mount Fuji and its numerous hot springs, making it a popular destination for visitors to relax in natural beauty. Some tourist attractions in the area include Sunpu Castle, an Edo-era structure that served as the seat of power for the Tokugawa shogunate, and Miho no Matsubara beach, which offers dramatic views of Mount Fuji across Suruga Bay.

This prefecture also has a long history associated with tea production. Some people believe that tea was first brought to Japan by Chinese priests in 1611, and Shizuoka was one of the earliest places where it was cultivated widely. Today, there are still traditional tea fields throughout Shizuoka Prefecture where visitors can learn about this ancient tradition before tasting some freshly made green tea from local farmers.
