Discover Fujioka

 
Fujioka is a small city located in the Gunma Prefecture of Japan. The city has a population of around 47,000 and is known for its rich history and traditional culture. The city boasts many sites worth seeing, such as the Fujioaka Castle Ruins Park which is home to the ruins of one of Japan's earliest castles. The Isezaki City Park also offers visitors a wonderful view along with walking paths and ponds that are popular spots for relaxation.

The Matsukawa River runs through Fujioka providing plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing and rafting. There are also several temples located within the city which offer visitors an opportunity to learn more about Buddhism and Shintoism in Japan. Visitors can sample local delicacies at the weekly markets or take part in cultural events like Bon-Odori where people dance in traditional costumes to celebrate summer festivals. Other activities include visiting local wineries or enjoying hot springs that have been popular since Edo Period days.
