Visit Tokushima Prefecture


Tokushima Prefecture is located in the Shikoku region of Japan and is home to some stunning scenery, making it a favorite tourist destination. Notable attractions include Naruto Park, which features a whirlpool that can be seen from shore, and Iya Valley, known for its beautiful mountain views. Nature lovers will also appreciate the Oboke Gorge along the Yoshino River and Uzu-no-Michi (The Road of Whirling Waterfalls).

The city of Tokushima also has plenty to offer visitors. The Awa Dance Festival is an immensely popular tradition held every August lasting for three days. It features some 50 thousand dancers in traditional costumes parading across town as onlookers watch. There's also the Kotohira Shrine complex dedicated to god Niniginomikoto where visitors can take part in traditional ceremonies including purification rituals with water from nearby rivers.

Finally, it's worth noting that Tokushima Prefecture has quite a colorful history dating back centuries ago when samurai warriors roamed its lands. Today, remnants of this era can be found throughout the prefecture including castles such as Marugame Castle where visitors can learn more about this period of time through onsite artifacts and displays
