Ajloun Castle, built in 1184AD by Izz al-Din Usama ibn Munqith, is one of the most popular tourist spots in the area. Other sites that are popular among tourists include Ajloun National Park which contains lush forests full of wildlife and interesting historical artifacts from previous civilizations nearby.

An interesting historical fact about Ajloun Governorate is that it was home to some very influential people throughout time; not only did it play an important role in various battles dating back centuries ago, but also was home to poet Abu Firas Al-Hamdani, who wrote many famous poems for the Ottoman Empire's sultan Suleyman The Magnificent.
