The Jerash Governorate of Jordan is a region located in the north of the country that is full of rich history and archaeological sites. The city of Jerash, known as the "Pompeii of the Middle East," is one of its most popular tourist attractions. Roman ruins, such as Hadrian's Arch, colonnaded streets, and temples are just some of the ancient wonders that can be seen in Jerash. Nearby lies Ajloun Castle which dates back to 1184AD and was built by Salah ad-Din al-Ayoubi to protect against enemy invasions from Syria.

Close to Jerash lies Umm Qais, a town with breathtaking views overlooking Lake Tiberius and mountains in Israel & Syria. This former Roman settlement hosts wonderfully preserved ruins including an amphitheater where plays were held during antiquity. Visitors also have access to thermal baths from Byzantine times as well as a museum containing artifacts from many different eras.

The region around Jerash has served as home for numerous civilizations throughout its storied past including Greeks, Nabataeans and Romans who all left their mark on this region unlike any other place in Jordan or around the world.
