Visit Atyraū

Atyrau is a region of Kazakhstan located in the western part of the country and located along the Ural River. It is an area known for its oil production, with many cranes and rigs dotting the landscape. The Atyrau region also has large grasslands and wetlands that are perfect for bird-watching.

A popular tourist location in Atyrau is the embankment around Lake Korgalzhyn, where visitors can take pictures of the serene lake surrounded by rolling hills. There are also several archaeological sites to explore, including ancient burial mounds.

An interesting historical fact about Atyrau is that it was one of Russia's main outposts during Tsarist rule, starting from 1793 until Kazakhstan's independence in 1991. Its strategic geographical position enabled it to serve as a gateway between Russia and Central Asia during this time period.
