Visit Jambyl Region


The Jambyl Region of Kazakhstan is a picturesque area situated in the south-eastern part of the country. It is bordered by Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Tajikistan. The region is known for its stunning natural beauty and ancient historical sites that are especially popular among tourists.

Two must-see attractions within this region are Taraz and Korday. Taraz boasts numerous ancient monuments, mosques, madrassas, and mausoleums from different eras including the Shir Daud Mausoleum from the 10th century AD. Korday's main attraction is a 2nd century BC archaeological site with large clay structures that are believed to have been used as man-made reservoirs to store water in times of drought or lack of rainfall.

An interesting historical fact about Jambyl Region was that many Ancient Turkic tribes such as Kangly, Oguzs, Karluks lived there more than a thousand years ago during Great Silk Road era. These tribal communities left behind an impressive legacy in terms of their culture and values which can still be seen throughout the region today - making it well worth exploring!
