Visit Kostanay Region


The Kostanay Region of Kazakhstan is a region located in the north-central part of the country, bordered by Russia to its north. It has many tourist attractions, including the Shchuchinsk-Borovoe Resort, a national park and recreation area with canyons and forests, as well as the city of Kostanay itself which is home to several historical landmarks. The region also features Lake Tengiz, one of Kazakhstan's largest inland lakes.

In addition to its natural beauty and interesting sites to explore, Kostanay Region also has an intriguing history. The area was originally inhabited by various nomadic tribes over 3 millennia ago and later became part of the Turkic Khaganate before being conquered by Russian forces in 1731. In modern times it became part of an independent Kazakhstan in 1991 after breaking away from Soviet rule.
