Visit Kyzylorda Region


The Kyzylorda Region of Kazakhstan is located in the south-eastern corner of the country, bordering Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The region is home to a rich cultural heritage, with numerous archaeological sites and ancient cities like Otrar and Syganak. It also has many stunning natural attractions such as Saryesik-Atyrau Desert, Saur Mountains and Karasor Canyon.

Tourists visiting the region should not miss out on exploring some of its most popular tourist spots such as Aral Sea Museum in Aralsk City or Karmakshy Nature Reserve which provides visitors with a unique opportunity to observe rare bird species in their natural habitat. Another must-see attraction is the historical Aisha Bibi Mausoleum, which dates back to 18th century AD.

Kyzylorda Region also boasts an interesting history; it was part of Turkestan Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic from 1917 until 1936 when it became part of Kazakh SSR. During World War II it served as an important supply base for Red Army soldiers fighting against Nazis on Eastern Front.
