Visit West Kazakhstan Province

West Kazakhstan Province is an administrative region located in the northwestern part of Kazakhstan, bordering Russia. It has a population of 1.8 million people and an area of 142,600 square kilometers, making it one of the largest provinces in the country. The capital and largest city is Oral (Uralsk).

The West Kazakhstan Province's landscape consists mainly of steppes and semi-desert areas with numerous natural monuments such as Saryarka Lake System and Ustyurt Plateau. It also boasts some important cultural sites, including Petropavlovsk Fortress, Mausoleum Of Sheikh Sariy ad-Din al-Kubravi and Aktobe Regional Museum Of Local Lore.

Two places worth visiting are Arkalyk Astronomical Observatory - one of the oldest observatories in Central Asia - for its amazing night sky views; and Torgai National Park for its wealth of birdlife, lush meadows and fishing opportunities.

An interesting historical fact pertaining to this province is that it was once part of a Khanate vassal state within Russian Empire during the 19th century before being incorporated into Soviet Union after WWII.
