Visit Elgeyo-Marakwet County


The Elgeyo-Marakwet County of Kenya is a vibrant and unique region located in the Rift Valley Province. It borders Uganda on the west, Uasin Gishu County to the south, Turkana County to the north, and Baringo County to its east. The area is home to many different cultures and languages, with Marakwet being the most dominant.

Tourists visiting Elgeyo-Marakwet can explore its stunning natural beauty, such as Mount Kamnarok National Park and Kerio Valley National Reserve. Both of these areas are excellent for wildlife spotting - including elephants and giraffes! There are also several lakes in this county which offer a variety of activities such as fishing or boating.

In terms of history, it's worth noting that British explorer Joseph Thomson was one of the first Europeans to visit Elgeyo-Marakwet back in 1883 after discovering its truly beautiful landscapes during his travels throughout East Africa!
