Visit Kisumu County

Kisumu County is a province in western Kenya and the third largest city of the country. It is located on the banks of Lake Victoria, making it an excellent destination for those looking to enjoy beautiful lake views, swimming, fishing and other activities. Kisumu is also known for its colorful culture as well as its vibrant nightlife.

Two touristy places to visit are Hippo Point which offers panoramic views of Lake Victoria and nearby islands; and Kibos both of which have several restaurants that offer traditional Kenyan cuisine such as ugali (maize meal) with sukuma wiki (collard greens). Additionally, there are a number of popular attractions in Kisumu including Kit Mikayi, where three gigantic rocks stand together above Kit Mikayi Village; Milimani Cultural Center where visitors can get a glimpse into local cultures through traditional dancing performances; and Ndere Island National Park with its rich wildlife sanctuary.

An interesting historical fact about Kisumu County is that it was once the capital of the Luo people before they were forced out by British colonialists in 1895. Today it serves as a gateway to their homeland across Lake Victoria and has become an important center for trade between East Africa's two biggest countries - Kenya and Tanzania.
