Pristina is the capital and largest city of Kosovo, located in the north-east corner of the country. It is a vibrant and rapidly growing city, with a population of around 200,000 people. The cultural heart of Kosovo, Pristina is known for its diverse restaurants and cafes alongside its lively nightlife; one can expect to find both traditional Albanian dishes as well as international cuisine. The city also boasts several cultural sights such as the National Theatre, Ethnographic Museum and Ottoman-era Clock Tower.

For those interested in history, there are several important places to visit including Grand Hammam (the old Turkish bath) and Gazimestan Monument which marks the site where Serbian leader Slobodan Milosevic made his famous speech during 1989's Battle of Kosovo. Additionally, visitors should take time to explore Castel Fortress - a 17th century fortress that stands atop a hill overlooking Pristina from the north-west. For more up close experiences with nature head to nearby Batlava Lake - considered by locals to be one of Europe's most beautiful natural locations; here travelers can go for walks or take part in water sports such as kayaking or paddle boarding.
