Visit Prizren


Prizren, Kosovo is a beautiful city located in the Dinaric Alps. It sits near the banks of the Bistrica River and offers stunning views of its nearby mountains. Prizren is known for its diverse cultural influences from Albanian, Ottoman, and Serbian cultures and is even home to several historic monuments including a 15th century fortress built by the Ottomans.

One must-see tourist location in Prizren is Sinan Pasha Mosque which dates back to 1615 and features ornate stone carvings along with a beautiful minaret that has been standing since 1780. Another interesting place to visit is Kalaja Fortress, an ancient structure built atop a rocky hill which overlooks much of Prizren's old town.

An interesting historical fact about Prizren involves its role as one of many important cities during the League of Prizren, an Albanian separatist movement founded in 1878 that fought against Ottoman rule. The League played a major part in shaping modern day Albania and remains an important piece of history for many locals today.
