Visit Shtime

The Shtime region is located in the east of Kosovo, bordered by Macedonia to the south and Serbia to the north. It is an area of rich history, spectacular views and numerous cultural attractions.

One popular tourist attraction is the Adem Jashari Memorial Complex which commemorates one of Kosovo's most famous martyrs. Visitors can pay respects at his burial site and see various artifacts from his life including weapons used during his fight against oppression. For those looking for culture, a trip to the Church of St. Nikola in Dolana should not be missed; it has been standing since 1736 when it was built by local Serb monks in accordance with Byzantine architecture style.

An interesting historical fact about Shtime is that this region became a part of Albania during World War I, only returning to Serbian rule after its conclusion until 1945 when it once again became part of Yugoslavia following Marshal Tito's rise to power.
