Visit Naryn


Naryn is a city in the Issyk-Kul Region of Kyrgyzstan. It is the administrative center of Naryn Province, and is home to about 33,000 people. Tourist attractions in Naryn include the ancient Burana Tower, a remnant of the former capital of Kara-Khanid Khanate, as well as Song Kol and Son Kul Lakes.

The area around Naryn has been inhabited since 2nd millennium BCE and was historically an important trade route between Europe and China. Its strategic location led to its occupation by various empires throughout history, including the Uyghurs, Mongols, Dzungars and Qing Dynasty.

Today visitors can explore Naryn's fascinating history at several museums such as The Regional Museum Of Local Lore or City Museum Of History And Culture. The city also offers plenty opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, horseback riding or camping on local mountainsides or riverbanks.
