Visit Salavan


The Salavan Province of Laos is known for its stunning natural beauty, diverse wildlife, and unique culture. Situated in the central part of the country, it is home to more than 200 species of birds and other animals. The province also has some spectacular mountain scenery, including Namha Plateau and Phou Khao Khouay National Park.

Salavan's capital city of Salavan is rich in cultural heritage, with many traditional villages to explore. There are also plenty of tourist attractions such as waterfalls, hot springs and caves for visitors to explore. Nearby Tad Lo waterfall is one of the most famous sites in the region and makes for a great day trip from Salavan.

For a bit of history head to Vat Phu Champasak temple complex which dates back to 5th century AD and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Alternatively visit Wat Phu Sriwatana further south which was built around 1500 AD during the time when Champasak was an independent kingdom prior to joining Laos in 1949.
