Visit Viangchan

Viangchan, also known as the "City of Eternal Spring" is the capital and largest city of Laos. Located on the banks of the Mekong River, it is an important cultural and economic center in Southeast Asia.

Viangchan offers visitors a unique blend of Laotian culture, French colonial architecture, and Buddhist temples. The largest temple in Viangchan is Wat Si Saket, which dates back to 1818 and houses more than 2000 Buddha statues. The nearby Pha That Luang Stupa is considered a national symbol for Laos and has been identified by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. For those wanting to get out into nature, Vang Vieng offers spectacular views along its limestone hilltops as well as numerous caves that are home to rare species of birds and bats.

Viangchan also has an interesting history; it was colonized by France in 1893 and was occupied by Japan during World War II. Today it continues to be an important trade hub for goods between China and Thailand due to its strategic location on the Mekong River.
