The Xaisomboun, also known as the Free Zone, is an area in Laos that was created by the French colonial government during their rule of the country in 1895. In this region, locals are free to practice their own culture and traditions with minimal interference from outside forces. One of the most popular tourist attractions in this region is Phou Hin Poun National Protected Area which offers visitors a stunning natural landscape through its mountains and valleys. Additionally, nearby Tha Heua is full of captivating historical sites such as ancient temples and local villages where guests can learn about traditional Lao culture firsthand. An interesting fact about Xaisomboun is that it was home to Ho Chi Minh when he first returned from France in 1941.
