Visit Xékong

Xekong province is a rural destination in Laos known for its natural beauty, vibrant culture and unique historical sites. Located in the south-eastern part of the country, Xekong is bordered by Vietnam to the east and Cambodia to the south.

The province is home to some of Laos' most spectacular scenery, offering stunning views of majestic mountains, lush jungle and pristine rivers. It's also home to some very interesting attractions including Ban Katamtok Village--an ethnic minority settlement with traditional houses--and Ta Oy Waterfall--a spectacular cascade surrounded by lush vegetation.

For travellers with an eye for history, Xekong also has plenty to offer with several ancient Buddhist temples dating back centuries such as Wat Pian Tham Ming Muang. One interesting historical fact about Xekong relates to its position on the Ho Chi Minh Trail during World War II; this was an important route used by both sides at different times throughout the conflict as a way of transporting goods and people to various locations within Asia.
