The Baalbek-Hermel Governorate is an area located in the Beqaa Valley of Lebanon. It is known for its rich history and culture, as well as its beautiful landscapes and archaeological sites. It is home to the ruins of one of the largest and most impressive Roman temples, the Temple of Bacchus, which dates back to 150 AD. The temple features eight Corinthian columns surrounded by a walled courtyard.

Another popular attraction in Baalbek-Hermel is the Citadel of Raymond de Saint-Gilles, a medieval fortress built between 1103-1110 by Raymond IV on top of Hellenistic remains. Tourists can also visit numerous wineries and vineyards scattered throughout the region that produce some unique local wines.

Finally, one interesting historical fact about this governorate is that it was once part of Greater Syria before being annexed by Lebanon during World War I in 1920.
