Lesotho is a small, landlocked country located in southern Africa. Set entirely inside the mountains of South Africa, Lesotho is often referred to as “the Kingdom in the Sky” due to its incredibly high elevation - more than 3300 meters above sea level! The country is loved by travelers for its beautiful landscapes, unique culture and friendly people.

One interesting fact about Lesotho is that it has the highest lowest point of any country in the world: at 1400 meters above sea level, it's twice as high as any other low-lying country. Some of the major points of interest include Malealea Village, Sehlabathebe National Park and Katse Dam.

Malealea Village is a rural community that offers travelers an authentic Lesothan experience. There are traditional dance shows, pony trekking tours and even a local bar for visitors to enjoy. Sehlabathebe National Park is home to some incredible wildlife and is a top spot for birdwatchers. And finally, Katse Dam is one of Africa’s largest dams and offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside.

For those seeking something a bit off the beaten path, there’s also the historic town of Paroikia. Located just outside Maseru, Paroikia offers visitors an opportunity to explore centuries-old architecture, churches and museums.

No matter where you go in Lesotho you’ll be welcomed with open arms and have plenty of opportunities to explore the country’s unique beauty and culture. Whether you’re looking for adventure or simply a place to relax and take in the views, Lesotho is an ideal destination for any traveler.
