Visit Berea District

The Berea District of Lesotho is a beautiful mountainous region located in the east of the country. It borders South Africa, and its capital city is Teyateyaneng. The area is famous for its picturesque mountain views and unique wildlife.

One popular tourist attraction here is Maletsunyane Falls, which offers stunning views of the surrounding cliffs and valleys. Visitors can also explore Thaba-Bosiu National Park, home to an abundance of bird species like raptors and eagles, as well as antelope and baboons.

The Berea District has an interesting history too - it was once part of an independent kingdom known as Basutoland before being annexed by Britain in 1868. Today, many traditional villages remain intact amid the rolling hills, offering visitors a glimpse into life long ago in Lesotho.
