Visit Grand Kru

The Grand Kru region of Liberia is located in the southeastern part of the country and borders Cote d'Ivoire. It has a population of just over 140,000 people, and covers an area of about 8,500 square kilometres. The main industries in this area are agriculture and fishing.

The Grand Kru region offers many tourist attractions that visitors can enjoy while visiting the country. The Sapo National Park is a great place to go for wildlife viewing and birdwatching, as it is home to many different species of animals. There is also Sapo Beach which boasts crystal-clear blue waters and white sandy beaches for swimming or soaking up some sun rays. Visitors can also enjoy eco-tourism activities on Monkey Island which is home to several species of monkeys as well as other tropical animals found in the jungle forest surrounding it.

One interesting historical fact about the Grand Kru region is that during Liberia's civil war from 1989 - 2003 it was one of only two regions out of fifteen that did not experience any fighting or violence due to its far removed location from other built-up areas at the time.
