Visit Al Jabal al Gharbī


Al Jabal al Gharbi (also known as the Western Mountain) is a mountain range located in western Libya. Spanning over 600km, this mountain range is part of the Atlas Mountains and offers stunning views of Libya's coastline, desert and oases.

One popular tourist destination in this area is the town of Nalut, which features an old castle (built in 1210), ancient mosques and breathtaking views from the top of its nearby hills. Another interesting place to visit is Ghadames, which holds one of Libya's oldest urban settlements with buildings that date back to 1,200 BCE.

Historically significant sites can also be found throughout Al Jabal al Gharbi such as the Roman city Leptis Magna and the Greek ruin Cyrene. This mountain range has been home to people for thousands years so it comes as no surprise that there are many fascinating ruins waiting to be discovered here!
