Visit Planken

The Planken of Liechtenstein is a small town located in the middle of the Rhine Valley, situated between Austria and Switzerland. It is known for its picturesque alpine scenery and charming medieval-style architecture. From here visitors can explore the nearby ski slopes, enjoy stunning views from nearby mountain peaks, or take part in various outdoor activities such as hiking and rock climbing. The annual Gasser Festival is also held here each August, with traditional folk music performances, dancing, and food stalls.

Popular tourist sites include Vaduz Castle which dates back to 12th century; Schalun Castle in Balzers which has dramatic views of the Rhine Valley; Gutenberg Castle near Vaduz; and Liechtenstein National Museum which showcases historical artifacts from all eras of Liechtenstein history. An interesting fact about Liechtenstein is that it has been ruled by one family since 1719 - The Princes of Liechtenstein - who still live on their ancestral estate at Vaduz Castle today!
