Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania, located in the southeast of the country. This medieval city has a rich cultural heritage and many attractions that make it one of the most popular tourist destinations in Europe. The old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is filled with charming cobblestone streets, beautiful churches and historic buildings. Vilnius Cathedral Square is at the heart of city life, hosting several open-air concerts and events during summer months.

Also worth visiting are Vilnius University Library and Lithuanian National Museum which have preserved rare collections from ancient times to present day. Tourists can also enjoy exploring Gediminas Tower for its breathtaking views over Vilnius Old Town or take a walk along Uzupis district where unique street art installations can be seen on every corner.
Finally, visitors should not miss out on trying traditional Lithuanian cuisine such as dumplings or cold beet soup which are served in restaurants throughout Vilnius.
