Visit Canton of Redange


The Canton of Redange is one of the 12 cantons of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It is located in the southwestern region and has a population of 18,000 people. The main city is Redange-sur-Attert, where its administrative offices are based.

This charming area offers many outdoor activities for nature lovers, such as hiking and cycling trails along its rivers and streams, as well as several parks with natural settings to enjoy. For those interested in history and architecture, there are many old churches and castles to explore - including Bourscheid Castle which dates back to the 11th century!

The area also boasts a vibrant culture scene with galleries, cafes and markets offering local products. There are a few tourist attractions nearby such as Vianden Castle - one of Europe's most impressive medieval fortifications - or Trier - Germany's oldest city full of Roman ruins - both just an hour away from Redange by car.

A fun fact about this canton is that it was home to Luxembourgian Prime Minister Gaston Eyschen who held office from 1907 until 1915!
