The Karonga region of Malawi is a captivating and beautiful area of the country. Located in the northernmost part of Malawi, it borders Tanzania to the north, Lake Nyasa to the east and Zambia to the west. Karonga also boasts a rich cultural history. It was once occupied by Chief Nkosi Mlowoka who successfully defended his territory against colonial German forces until he was eventually captured in 1898 - making him an inspirational figure for many generations since then!
