Visit Mchinji District


The Mchinji District of Malawi is located in the central region of the country and is known as one of Malawi's most peaceful districts. It has an area of 4,643 square kilometers and is home to a population of more than 480,000 people. The district is largely rural with some small towns scattered throughout the landscape. Agriculture plays an important role in the economy, with maize being its main crop.
