Visit Mulanje

Mulanje is a beautiful district in the southern region of Malawi. As one of the country's most popular tourist destinations, you'll find plenty to explore and discover here. Mulanje Mountain is particularly renowned for its spectacular scenery, with lush forests and stunning waterfalls which attract hikers from all over the world. The Sapitwa peak is the highest point on the mountain and provides a breathtaking view of the surrounding valleys.

The neighboring tea plantations offer an interesting insight into local life, while nearby Likhubula Nature Reserve offers guided safari tours around its protected landscape. A visit to Mulanje wouldn't be complete without a stop at Thuchila Falls -one of Malawi's largest waterfalls - or exploring Michiru Cave, home to many rare species of bats!

Historically, Mulanje was once part of Maravi kingdom that flourished during 16th century; it was also home to David Livingstone where he set up his mission station in 1859 before moving further north towards Lake Nyasa (now Lake Malawi). Today, this vibrant district still retains much of its original culture and heritage.
