Rumphi is a region located in the northern part of Malawi. It has a population of approximately 200,000 people and is known for its stunning lakeside scenery. The region is home to Nyika National Park, a vast area of grasslands and hills that provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing. The park contains an array of different animals including zebras, antelopes, leopards, and hyenas.

Another popular tourist destination in Rumphi is the Mzimba Heritage Museum which showcases the history and culture of local tribes in the area. Visitors can explore traditional artifacts such as baskets, jewelry, or wooden sculptures while learning about local customs and traditions from knowledgeable staff members.

An interesting fact about this region is that it was formed by Scottish missionaries during colonial times who named many places after their family names such as Rumphi Town which was named after Reverend Alexander Rumphius. This town became one of Malawi's first mission sites in 1897 making it an important historical site worth visiting today.
