Visit Thyolo District

The Thyolo District is located in the southern region of Malawi, and it is known for its rolling hills, tea plantations and stunning views. The area is home to Tea Estates like Satemwa Tea Estate which dates from 1923 and offers a blissful escape from the hustle of city life. Here visitors can take a tour of the estate's production factory or enjoy one of their many walking trails that take you through lush forests and majestic landscapes.

Thyolo also offers some interesting historical sites such as Mulanje Mountain Fortress which was built in 1890 when the British were trying to protect themselves against local tribes fighting for their independence. This fortress stands as a reminder of how much has changed since then.

Those looking to relax can head over to Liwonde National Park which is an absolute paradise for wildlife enthusiasts. Visitors can explore this protected game reserve by taking safari tours on either foot or boat where they get a chance to spot some rare species of birds, reptiles, mammals and other fascinating creatures including elephants, lions, antelopes and more!
