Visit Kedah


Kedah, located in the northern region of Malaysia is a state with a long and interesting history. The ancient kingdom was established at least as early as 1136 AD and has been ruled by both Hindu and Muslim dynasties. It is home to many beautiful temples and cultural sites, such as the Gunung Jerai temple complex and the Langkawi archipelago, which are popular tourist destinations.

Kedah is also known for its delicious cuisine that combines traditional Malay flavors with Chinese influences. Some popular dishes include ayam percik (spicy grilled chicken) and laksa utara (noodle soup from North Kedah). Nature lovers will be delighted by the numerous waterfalls, rivers, rainforests, mangrove swamps, beaches, and other attractions located throughout the state.

History buffs should make sure they visit Bujang Valley - an archaeological site containing ruins of ancient Hindu-Buddhist temples that date back over 2000 years ago! Kedah's unique cultural heritage makes it an interesting place to explore for all types of visitors.
