Visit Putrajaya

Putrajaya is a planned city and federal administrative centre located in the state of Selangor, Malaysia. It was made the official capital of Malaysia in 1999 and serves as the seat of government for the country. Putrajaya is known for its modern landscape, which consists mainly of office complexes, residential areas, recreational parks, and other amenities.

Putrajaya has plenty to offer for tourists who visit this beautiful city. One must-visit spot is Putra Mosque--one of the largest mosques in Southeast Asia with beautiful architecture and landscaping inspired by Middle Eastern designs. Another attraction is Taman Warisan Pertanian (Agricultural Heritage Park), an interactive botanical garden featuring various plant species from around Malaysia.

An interesting historical fact about Putrajaya is that it was named after the country's first prime minister: Tun Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj (also known as Bapa Kemerdekaan). The former prime minister had a great vision to develop this area into a smart modern city with world-class infrastructure and facilities; his dream became reality more than a decade later when construction began on this ambitious project in 1995.
