The Addu Atoll of Maldives is located in the southernmost part of the archipelago, and is one of the most picturesque locations in all of South Asia. Here you'll find stunningly beautiful beaches surrounded by crystal-clear blue waters and lush vegetation. Addu Atoll is also an important historical site as it was the site of an epic battle between British forces and local Maldivians during World War II. The victory helped unify the country and continues to be celebrated today as National Heroes Day every November 18th.
