Visit Noonu Atoll


Noonu Atoll, located in the Maldives, is a paradise of white sand beaches and crystal clear waters. This beautiful atoll is made up of almost 20 inhabited islands, as well as several uninhabited ones. It's a great place to relax and enjoy nature as it is surrounded by majestic reefs and a variety of marine life.

One popular tourist attraction in Noonu Atoll is Olhugiri Island which offers excellent snorkelling opportunities. You can also explore the ruins of Villingili Kuda Giri which are thought to date back to the 17th century when Noonu was an important trading hub for sailors from Arabia and India. There's also plenty of opportunity for fishing with its deep lagoons or go on an excursion to nearby islands for some island hopping!

The other touristy spot to visit in Noonu Atol is Maalhendhoo Island where you can find beautiful coral gardens just offshore - perfect for snorkelling! For those interested in culture, there are centuries-old Buddhist ruins on the island that will give visitors a unique insight into local history. An interesting historical fact about this area is that it was once known as "Fenfushi", meaning 'the island that shines'.
